GRAPE TO GLASS offers a unique opportunity for the connoisseur and the casual wine enthusiast to learn about all aspects of wine, literally from grape to glass. The four day tour (Monday through Thursday) includes a vineyard tour, a winery tour, a morning with a gold medal winning winemaker and a morning with a Julia Childs’ award winning Chef.
The private vineyard tour takes place at the distinctive Benziger Family Wineries located in Glen Ellen, Sonoma County. The private tour educates our guests on the growing techniques used for different varietals and advanced ecological viticulture.
Following your private tour you will experience a private tasting and a catered lunch under the redwoods at Benziger on the beautiful wine terrace. Our tour continues with private tastings at some of Sonoma’s most exclusive wineries.
The second day begins at the Franciscan Winery in Napa Valley where our group will have an exclusive winery tour. During this tour, the group will learn what happens to the grape from the crush pad, to the barrel, to the bottle. You will have the opportunity to barrel taste wines in the aging process in both French and American Oak as well as an exclusive tasting of Quintessa.
The private tasting will be held at the Quintessa Vineyard overlooking the Rutherford Appellation and the Napa Valley. After returning to the Franciscan Winery, a second private tasting will be conducted of the excellent wines of Franciscan, Mount Veeder and Estancia. Following a catered lunch, tastings will take place at other Napa Valley wineries.
